COMING HOME: ‘IT’ SEQUEL FLOATS INTO THEATERS IN 2019
Get those dream casting picks in, we’re returning to Derry. Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema are officially moving forward with a sequel to this summer’s smash — and perhaps surprising — hit, IT. Chapter two will hit theaters September 6, 2019.
Tweaking the structure of the massive Stephen King novel, the sequel shifts focus to present day as the film’s gang of friends, now adults, band together to defeat the evil entity IT.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, screenwriter Gary Dauberman will return to pen the sequel. No word yet on a director but it’s probably a safe to assume Andy Muschietti will return as well.
If you still haven’t had your fix, Warner Bros. uploaded a quick new featurette on Pennywise the Dancing clown over the weekend. Check that out below.
